Are you looking for a way to improve your diet but aren’t quite sure where to start? The Demonstration Kitchen at the Purdue Co-Rec is an easy way to learn about healthy eating without ever having to leave campus. From raw-vegan classes to international cuisines, these demonstrations are perfect for anyone who loves to cook or is interested in learning to make healthy and delicious meals.
The next demonstration, called Decadent Desserts, will be held on Thursday, February 13th from 7-8 p.m. It will be taught by PUSH Registered Dietician, Michelle Singleton, and will teach you how to make healthy and indulgent desserts without using too much sugar or fat. The cost is only $10 and, since pre-registration is required, you should sign up at the Member Services desk in the Recreational Sports Center. You can also register by calling 765-494-3110. Not sure where to go? The kitchen is located in the Wellness Suite on the second floor of the Recreational Sports Center.
While I’ve already signed up for Decadent Desserts and will be live-tweeting the event, if you aren’t able to attend this Thursday and still want to improve your culinary skills, you can see the complete schedule as well as class descriptions for Spring 2014 here. All classes last about one hour and provide samples for you to taste.
